MATCOIL

MATCOIL is a GUI-based program written in Matlab that enables both single surface coils and surface coil configurations to be designed, and the resulting B1 fields and sensitivity fields to be calculated and displayed. Additional parameters, such as tip angle, and vector field plots of the B1 field, are also available. The coil shapes may be varied from circular, to elliptical, to rectangular, and may be planar or wrapped about a circular cylinder. In the present version of MATCOIL the coil configurations are co-axial. In addition, the present version of MATCOIL also enables a pair of circular coils to be designed and driven in quadrature, and the resulting B1 fields to be displayed. Additional details of the program are available in the Word document MATCOIL.doc. The zipped file MATCOIL.zip is available for copying and downloading, and also contains the file MATCOIL.doc.

MATCOIL is designed for Matlab 7.0.1 (release 14) running on Windows. Although the program should also run on earlier versions of Matlab, some options may be unavailable.
